Why does my 7-month-old resist purees, and is this normal?
It is completely normal for a 7-month-old to show little interest in purees; many babies prefer exploring texture through finger foods or by chewing on spoons. To encourage intake, try offering 'thick' purees loaded onto a spoon for them to hold, or move toward lumpy mashes and finger foods. Avoid force-feeding and don't worry if they only consume a few teaspoons initially, as they are exploring new sensations rather than seeking full meals at this stage.
