Why does my baby pass mucus in their stool?

Mucus in stool can be a normal occurrence in infants as their digestive systems mature, but it can also be a sign of irritation or underlying issues like food protein intolerance (CMPA). If the mucus is accompanied by other symptoms like excessive crying, blood streaks, or frequent loose motions, consult your pediatrician to discuss a potential elimination diet or stool testing.
