Do toddlers need protein supplements?

Generally no. Toddlers need about 1g of protein per kg of body weight, easily met through regular foods — one egg has 6g, a cup of milk and yogurt provides about 10g. Concentrated plant proteins can upset young stomachs. Whey-based products are typically for 6+ years. Stick to natural sources like eggs, lentils, milk, meat, and peas, which also provide essential micronutrients supplements miss.
