FAQ Feeding 6-12 months

How can I help my baby drink water if they spit it out?

Many breastfed babies are slow to show interest in water because they receive adequate hydration from breast milk. Don't worry if they spit out plain water; you can try offering it in a straw cup or a small open steel cup, as these often hold more interest for older infants than weighted or spout-style sippers. Continue to offer small sips alongside meals to build the habit, and trust that they will drink more as their solid food intake increases.
