How can I help my baby with constipation after starting solids?

It is common for a baby's digestion to adjust during the first few weeks of solids. To help, ensure they are getting adequate water intake throughout the day as advised by your pediatrician. Focus on easier-to-digest, runnier purees and consider adding a small amount of ghee to their meals. Gentle, fiber-rich options like pureed pear or papaya are often more effective and better tolerated than prunes or dried fruits, which can sometimes be too pungent or difficult for a 6-month-old. Always introduce new foods one at a time and avoid foods like apples that contain high levels of pectin if constipation persists.
