Is it normal for the BCG vaccine site to have a bump or pus?

It is completely normal for the BCG vaccine injection site to develop a small bump or even a tiny pus-filled head as it heals. This reaction indicates that the vaccine is working properly. You should avoid applying any oils, lotions, or creams to the area, as this can cause irritation; simply wash the site gently with plain water during baths, pat it dry, and allow it to heal on its own.
