When is the right age to start playdates?

While you can invite friends over at any age, formal playdates become more engaging once a baby is mobile, usually around 7.5 to 8 months. Before this, outings are often dominated by nap schedules. Once babies are crawling or sitting, they truly begin to benefit from observing and interacting with other children.
